16-Feb-2017Making a Difference at Beacon Hill
Our recent experience with the construction of the new $2.5 million Glenworth Valley Multifunction Centre at Calga stood us in good stead for our current commercial project – the redevelopment of Making a Difference Early Childhood Education and Care centre at Beacon Hill, as both projects required careful coordination and the flexibility to work in a fully operational centre.
Planning and construction work in an operational childcare centre poses a host of new challenges to our team. With young children and staff onsite Monday to Fridays, all work must be carried out on weekends and after hours. Careful coordination and strict adherence to schedules and procedures is required to ensure all work is completed while ensuring a safe, clean and tidy site ready for use the following weekday morning.
Our services on the childcare project include design development, planning, drafting and construction. The project is under the capable management of Martin Lewis, who joined MudgeCorp in 2010 as a first year apprentice. Martin has always proven himself to be a high achiever. He won back-to-back MBA Apprentice of the Year awards in 2011 and 2012 and is now a fully qualified and highly respected Site Manager and member of our team.
Martin and his construction team have received a glowing testimonial from the client on the work completed so far.
“Just want to say Martin and his team have done a fabulous job at Beacon Hill on their first weekend there. Everyone is totally impressed with the cleanliness of the site after they left.”
Work is currently in its early stages and we look forward to reporting our progress in the coming months.
