Central Coast commercial and residential construction company MudgeCorp Design and Construction Management brought home a swag of awards after the 2015 Master Builders Newcastle Excellence in Building Awards earlier this month.
Winning a total of five MBA awards, including the highly coveted Housing Builder of the Year award, MudgeCorp is now a contender to take out the
prestigious Australian Housing Builder of the Year award at the national MBA awards.
MudgeCorp won this award for a beachside home in Avoca Beach designed by local architect, Zias Building Design. Judges comments reflected the high
level of skill required to build the home, which is featured on the cover of the current MBA (NSW) magazine. They wrote,
"The combination of a challenging site and a high spec home designed to fully capitalise on its coastal outlook has provided the builder with the opportunity to exhibit the extent of their skill and craftsmanship. The builder has delivered an exceptional home in every respect."
MudgeCorp also progresses to the National MBA awards for their wins in the following categories:
- Custom Built Homes (over $2 million)
- Swimming Pool of the Year
- Efficient Use of Water
- Custom Built Homes ($800,000 to $1 million)
Four of the five awards were for the Avoca Beach home for which MudgeCorp took out the title of Housing Builder of the Year.
More than 520 guests attended the gala awards ceremony at New Lambton earlier this month, which attracted in excess of 140 entries with a combined value of work exceeding $300 million. A testament to the high standard of this year's entries, judges said they, "displayed some of the most extraordinary building practices and finishes we have ever had the pleasure of inspecting."
No strangers to winning industry awards, MudgeCorp's latest accolades add to the company's existing string of award wins and accolades, including back to back Apprentice of the Year Awards in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 won by Martin Lewis, a current Site Foreman at MudgeCorp and former star apprentice.
MudgeCorp Managing Director, Steve Mudge said,
"All of the staff, sub-contractors and suppliers have consistently put in outstanding effort for all of our projects and to be recognised with an award like this is great. It so pleasing that the demand for building on the Central Coast continues to grow stronger and we appreciate the support we have from our fantastic clients."
